13 May 2012: Ciao, which is the oldest Italian restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, resembles a rustic Italian country house with a cozy garden and man-made lake overlooking the golf course. I drive past it almost everyday when on my way home and I notice it's closed for private function quite often.

I like to dine here during special occasion. This round, I was there with my mom and my husband to celebrate mother's day.

Here are what we had...

  • Costiera (RM32++) -> Pizza with tomato, mozzarella and mixed seafood. This is just an average seafood pizza to me. Nothing special.
  • Fettuccine al Salmone (RM36++) -> Fresh fettuccine with smoked salmon, tomato and cream sauce. Fettuccine is too soft, maybe it's my personal preference, I don't really appreciate fresh pasta. Salmone and the sauce are quite tasty though. Mixture of cream sauce and tomato makes it creamy and appetizing at the same time. Worth a try.
  • Branzino al Cartoccio (RM54++) -> Seabass fillet baked in aluminum foil with garlic, capers, kalamata olives, anchovies, herbs, fresh tomatoes and splash of white wine. Small piece of fillet with ordinary taste. Definitely not worth the price.
  • Chocolate Lava Cake (RM24++) -> This is my favourite dessert. The chocolate sauce filling is still as warm, thick and rich, as usual. However, I remember it used to be better during my previous visit. If not mistaken, mild orange flavouring or grind orange peel is added to this chocolate cake. Unfortunately, I don't like this change.
Here's the post for my previous visit:
